James Grosch Rises

Writer of things.

People seem to be really upset about SimCity’s bad launch. So here’s a video I made with Bold Choice.

I have made my triumphant tumbling return.

I have a lot to say. About starting something. About sticking to that something. About learning from failure. About facing fears.

But first, watch this video where I mispronounce the word “graphics.”

Tumbl’d

I just wrote a whole post about habits. I hit the preview button, not realizing “preview” means “digitally shred into oblivion” in tumblr speak. That’s what I get for not using tumblr for a few months.

“I don’t know what to do with my blog.”

I recently told this to a friend.

It’s a weak conundrum to have, but a conundrum nonetheless.

So, here I am, still not knowing what to do with my blog, but doing something.

Please stick around for the fun.

Two videos in one week?!

I know, it’s insanity.

All The Wrong Reasons has finally been posted online for your viewing pleasure. I wrote, produced, edited, and acted in this pilot that was an official selection at the 2011 New York Television Festival. It stars a lot of the usual suspects that I’ve been working with, and I really hope you do enjoy it.

Next up in the “make things and share them with the world” initiative is this sketch which I wrote and directed. I also play the extremely positive character of Dave (whose name is never mentioned). The brilliantly talented Ian Littleworth plays Jesse, the enthusiastic pitchman.

I’m pretty proud of it for the fact that I went from script to finished product in 5 days. A big goal for me this year is to drive down the time of that turn around.

I’m also a big fan of the pacing. I hope you enjoy, and please let me know what you think.

This just makes me want to go out and stick my camera inside of a dryer and shoot something.

(Disclaimer: Do not stick your camera inside of a dryer).
